Documentation of collages, river drawings, depth maps and screenshots of the 3D outcomes from sessions at the University of Westminster. We ran mini workshops on 3D scanning, displacement maps and how AI can be used to simulate depth of field and other effects.
We reflected on the computational effort that goes into making a digital photograph appear realistic, while the same automated processes arguably take it further from reality, discussing the potentials for the use of self-made digital tools, with concept-driven workshop activities, to support when learning technical skills.
